Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stressed on Wednesday that he is committed to protect civilians in Aleppo which consequently requires to get rid of all terrorists in the area.
“This is our mission in accordance with the constitution and law,” Assad said during an interview with Channel “SRF1”.
“Of course, it is our mission in accordance with the constitution and the law to protect people and to get rid of those terrorists in Aleppo,” Assad said answering a question about the Syrian regime’s ability to change the situation for children in Aleppo.
“In this way we can protect civilians. How could we protect them while still under the control of terrorists?,” he stressed.
“They [people of Aleppo] have been killed by terrorists and terrorists were in control over them completely, does our role lie in standing idly by and watching? Can you protect the Syrian people by doing so?” Syrian President asked.
“It is self-evident that we have to attack the terrorists,” he concluded.
