The so-called ‘Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’ (ISIL) takfiri group called its terrorist members through loudspeakers to withdraw from the left part of Mosul city because of what it described as “hypocrisy in the land of the caliphate.”
A local source in Nineveh province said that “ISIL began Sunday evening to call its elements through loudspeakers of a mosque to withdraw from Mosul, particularly from the left part of the city,” noting that “the group attributed the withdrawal to what it called hypocrisy.”
“The person who aired the ISIL statement told the group members and their families that ‘he who wants the Islamic state and the caliphate should withdraw with us’,” the source, who asked not to be named said, pointing out that “he described the city of Mosul as a city of hypocrisy,” referring to the attacks that targeted ISIL members from within the city, as well as using the term as an excuse to escape from the impending attack by the security forces on the city.”
Moreover, the source pointed out that “a partial withdrawal of ISIL elements began in the city,” elaborating that “the majority of elements decided to withdraw with their families, out of fear of the Iraqi army operation to liberate the city.”
