Head of General Security Major General Abbas Ibrahim voiced readiness to be charged with a coordination mission aimed between Lebanon and Syria.
“I am completely ready to carry out any mission aimed at coordination between Lebanon and Syria if the Lebanese government wills,” Lebanese daily Al-Jomhouriyah quoted Ibrahim as saying in remarks published on Wednesday.
The Maj. Gen. said that the coordination mission would tackle Syrian refugees issue and their safe return to their country.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim referred to the strict measures taken by the General Security Service on Syrians who want to enter Lebanon at the border crossing of Al-Masnaa between the two neighbor countries.
The daily reported that Ibrahim is heading on Wednesday to Damascus to meet Syrian officials there and tackle disputed issues between the two countries.
