The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces have reportedly captured the National Hospital, one of the key ISIL positions in Raqa.
Media reports cited SDF spokesman Mostafa Bali as saying that the National Hospital was in the hands of SDF, and that the US-backed forces are now fighting in the area of the city’s stadium.
“The national hospital was liberated and… 22 foreign mercenaries were killed,” Bali was quoted as saying on Tuesday.
“Clashes continue with great intensity near the municipal stadium,” the other main position still in IS hands, according to SDF spokesman.
The advance came a day after the SDF took an infamous roundabout used by the Takfiris for public beheadings in Raqa.
