The Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat mentioned on Monday that a number of Sunni political leaders in Iraq want to meet with the Prime Minister Haidar Abadi to tackle the choice of establishing an independent Sunnite region, adding that such step was aimed to be kept confidential.
The paper added that the Sunni forces consider that it is an adequate opportunity to have an independent entity, noting that they also plan to hold an alliance with Kurdistan to oblige the authorities in Baghdad to approve such a move.
