Commander of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) elite Quds force, Major General Qassem Suleimani said the Islamic Republic will celebrate along with Iraq and Russia the defeat of ISIL terrorist group in just two months.
“We had decided to go to Syria and Iraq because diplomacy can’t settle some issues,” Suleimani said Thursday in a ceremony in Tehran, stressing: “When the other side knows nothing but to kill we should confront it.”
He noted that the Iranians are sacrificing themselves in a bid to defend oppressed people in Iraq and Syria.
“When Mohsen Hojaji fell martyr last month I said in a statement that eradicate ISIL malicious tree in three months. Today and after a month on Hojaji’s martyrdom, I say we will celebrate along with Iraq, Syria and Russia the defeat of this terrorist group,” Suleimani said, referring to Iranian adviser who was beheaded by ISIL last month in Syria.
Suleimani meanwhile, said ISIL considers Iraq and Syria a bridge to reach Iran, wondering if the Iranians would allow the terrorists of reaching the Islamic Republic.
