Syria’s Permanent Representative at the UN Bashar al-Jaafari stressed that the governments of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, the USA, France, and Britain are involved in supporting terrorism in Syria and act as if they are unconcerned with the UN Security Council’s resolutions related to combating terrorism, while the Israeli occupation provides blatant support to al-Nusra terrorists in the south.
In an interview with Al Mayadeen TV channel on the sidelines of activities of the 17th Non-Aligned Movement Summit held in Margarita, Venezuela, al-Jaafari said that ‘Israel’ hosts al-Nusra Front, Liwa shuhada al-Yarmouk, Jund al-Aqsa, and all the terrorists being trained in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and ‘Israel’ itself, pointing out that the Israeli occupation treats the injured terrorists in its hospitals with Qatari funding.
Al-Jaafari clarified that the Syrian state has sent hundreds of complaints to the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council on the exercises of the Israeli entity in the occupied Syrian Golan and its full involvement in the battles in the southern front to the, and that it also sends documents on daily basis to the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.
He noted that there would be no solution to the issue of separating the ‘moderate opposition’ and the terrorist organizations as long as there is a US desire to hide the terrorists and cover for them by labeling them as “moderate opposition.”
“The US Administration and its senior officials said shamelessly that they cannot support the call for separating al-Nusra from the armed opposition groups because that would strengthen the position of the Syrian government,” al-Jaafari said, stressing that they use terrorism as a political weapon against the Syrian government for blackmailing it.
He pointed out that the policies of Britain and France are based on maliciousness, hatred, and the settling of scores towards Syria, and that they have unwanted “human trash” in their communities that they are trying to get rid of by sending them to fight in Syria and Iraq.
Al-Jaafari pointed out to the presence of some Non-Aligned Movement member states which support terrorism in Syria, on top of which the Gulf states and Jordan, saying that there are multiple tracks in the behaviors of states as there is a sort of political hypocrisy exercised by some governments, whether they are members of the Movement or not, and this behavior hinders the development of the Non-Aligned Movement, clarifying that for the first time, al-Nusra has been listed in the documents of the Movement as a terrorist entity, which goes in line with all the international, Arab, and regional efforts in this regard.
