At least two people have sustained stabbing injuries in a physical brawl that ensued a “verbal conflict” at a subway station in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
The incident took place on Saturday when a man used a box cutter against several other commuters at Shahre Rey station, located in a Tehran suburb of the same name.
Hadi Tamhidi, a deputy at Shahre Rey governorate, said the incident was prompted by a “verbal conflict.” He further noted that police shot the assailant and wounded him, but he died en route to the hospital.
