Iran expressed solidarity with Russia on Tuesday, a day after a terrorist attack claimed lives of 11 people in St. Petersburg metro.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi denounced the terrorist attack on Monday, saying that creating insecurity and massacre of innocent people is the most contemptuous act to achieve political goals.
Qasemi also expressed solidarity with the Russian nation and government as well as the families of the victims of the attack, IRNA news agency reported.
Stressing the need for international collective participation to seriously counter terrorism, he said that terrorist attack with any motivation is rejected.
“We believe uprooting the evil and barbaric crimes requires nothing but all the governments and international organizations’ strong resolve, in a word international consensus,” he said.
