Calm finally prevailed in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain-el-Hilwe in the southern city of Sidon last night, after days of heavy clashes that rocked the camp.
Warring parties said they were committed to the ceasefire declared yesterday by the factions from the Palestinian Embassy in Beirut, Lebanese National News Agency correspondent.
Al-Manar correspondent reported damage in properties and cars in the areas which witnessed gunbattles.
Meanwhile, the city of Sidon is observing general strike, and schools and institutions are closing for the day, as called forth by MP Bahiya Hariri yesterday, in an expression of rejection of inter-fighting among Palestinians, according to NNA.
