Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared the commencement of what he terms the “second stage” of the ongoing conflict, urging Israeli settlers to prepare for an extended period of hostilities.
During a public address, Netanyahu commended the recent airstrikes against Hamas and other Palestinian resistance groups while cautioning that the situation within the Gaza Strip would be both challenging and protracted.
Notably, Netanyahu framed the conflict as a continuation of what he referred to as “Israel’s historical mission to liberate Palestine,” emphasizing, “This is our second War of Independence. It is our mission, our purpose in life, and together we shall succeed.”
On Saturday, the Israeli Security Minister, Yoav Gallant, confirmed that the country had transitioned into a new phase in the conflict, with ground forces continuing their operations in Gaza until further orders are issued.
Despite previous unsuccessful attempts, Netanyahu articulated that his primary objective in these aggressive actions against Gaza is “to incapacitate the military and political capabilities of Hamas and to secure the release of our kidnapped settlers.”
