Hezbollah issued on Saturday a statement to denounce the US move of imposing sanctions on Iranian media outlets and a number of their officials and employees.
The Party’s Media Relations Department indicated that the US administration and its followers in the world claim falsely freedom of speech, thought and belief as long as they remain consistent with their interests, policies, and beliefs, adding that, in fact, they practice stifling the freedom of expression of everyone who opposes them by all means, especially sanctions that reveal the falsity of their policy and their false claims about freedom, equality as well as equal opportunities.
The statement added, “The real meaning of the sanctions on thinkers, writers, journalists, and media institutions around the world is the recognition of failure in the intellectual confrontation and the inability to convince the world to adopt the Western cultural model based on control and hegemony.”
Hezbollah declared its full solidarity with all institutions and individuals who have been affected by the unjust sanctions, standing by their side, and full support to their constructive media role in confronting aggression as well as occupation and supporting the resistance, liberation movements, and the right of peoples, especially the peoples of our region, to freedom and independence.
