The former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak called on the Israeli soldiers and officers to rebel against the command in protest of the judicial overhaul, considering that the ruling system has become illegitimate.
Barak said that the Israeli Occupation Army noted that the Israeli soldiers, regardless of their political affiliations, serve the army of a “democratic” state, not a dictator.
The former prime minister’s remarks reflect the grave crisis storming the Zionist army in light of the vertical and horizontal divisions plaguing ‘Israel’ as the governmental coalition advanced the judicial amendments which would diminish the powers of the court in favor of the ;political institutions.
In this regard, the chief of military staff Herzi Halevi warned against the effects of the political crisis on the army, adding that the soldiers are proclaiming and protesting against the judicial overhaul.
The former chief of military staff Dan Halutz said, “We had served the army for the sake of a democratic state, but, if this state is no longer be democratic, we can serve the army in Rwanda or Uganda where we will be paid more.”
