The sudden death of political activist Elie Lahoud was reported late Tuesday in the Mar Elias Church in Mtayleb, Al-Matn.

According to eyewitnesses, Lahoud was found with a gunshot wound to the head.

Immediately following the discovery of the crime, security forces arrived at the scene and initiate an investigation.

Lahoud was well-known for his pro-resistance views against ‘Israel’ and terrorism, as well as his opposition to the policies of the Lebanese Forces militia.

Despite speculation from a local television channel that Lahoud’s death may have been a suicide, the investigation remains ongoing, and the cause of death has not been officially determined.
