Member of Loyalty to Resistance bloc, Sheikh Hassan Ezzeddine, called on all the Lebanese parliamentary blocs to resort to modesty in approaching the presidential elections.
MP Ezzeddine also warned some parties against betting on the foreign intervention in the presidential vote, stressing that the new president can never be imposed by foreign powers.
For his part, Member of Hezbollah Central Council Sheikh Nabil Qawook underlined the importance of the local consensus in order to overcome the presidential elections deadlock.
It is worth noting that lack of consensus has so far prevented the Lebanese parliament from electing a new president as blank ballots dominated the first ten vote sessions.
Lebanon has been suffering a presidential vacuum since the end of President Michel Aoun’s term on October 31, 2022.
