The Lebanese parliament held on Thursday the fifth session to elect a new President, reaching the same result of the first four sessions.
After some quarrels between the lawmakers over the Constitutional stipulations pertaining the elections, the members of the parliament cast their ballots.
As a result of the vote, 47 blank ballots were counted, and 44 MPs elected the candidate Michel Moawwad. In addition, 19 ballots supported miscellaneous candidates, and one ballot was cancelled.
After the end of the vote, quorum was missed, which made Speaker Nabih Berri adjourn the session till Thursday, November 17.
