Around 50 political, media and educational figures attended the celebration event held to announce the results of Palestine’s International Prize for Literature competition at Risalat hall in Beirut’s Dahiyeh.
The Lebanese minister of culture Mohammad Al-Mortada addressed the festival, reiterating commitment to the Palestinian cause and the liberation of all the occupied territories.
The Secretary General of Palestine’s International Prize for Literature, Mohsen Parvis, underlined the importance of explaining the reasons behind supporting the Palestinian cause in the Islamic World.
Zwelivelile “Mandla” Mandela, member of South Africa parliament and grandson of Nelson Mandela, stressed the importance of culturally supporting Palestine.
90 works of literature competed to win the prize aimed at presenting the books which have concentrated on the Palestinian cause and teh right of the Palestinian refugees right to return.
