The Lebanese parliament convened on Monday in a fourth session aimed at electing a new president amid lack of consensus among the various blocs.
50 of the lawmakers cast blank ballots, while 39 of others voted for Michel Moawwad. Meanwhile, 10 voters supported Issam Khalife, and 15 ballots were annulled.
Member of Loyalty to Resistance bloc,. Hasan Fadlallah, called for a political consensus that leads to electing a new president.
Media reports have mentioned recently that Speaker Berri may call for a national dialogue in order to reach that consensus.
