Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem reiterated the Party’s call for a consensual president in Lebanon, warning against a candidate that functions as an American puppet with much of grudge.

Addressing a mourning ceremony that marks the anniversary of the Resistance martyr leader Hajj Hatem Hamadeh, Sheikh Qassem indicated that Hezbollah is committed to the presidential elections on the constitutional time.

His eminence added that backing a provocative candidate shakes the national aspect of this constitutional entitlement, noting that teh new president must work for the sake of all the Lebanese.

Sheikh Qassem affirmed that the new president must also consecrate the golden formula Army-People Resistance which protects the nation and its resources as well as its dignity and independence.

It is worth noting that the upcoming parliamentary session aimed at electing a new president will be on Thursday, October 20.
