Head of Hezbollah Executive Council Sayyed Hashem Safieddine stressed on Friday that who committed Tayyouneh massacre had plotted a sectarian and regional sedition, adding that Hezbollah wants the murderers, provokers, and planners to be punished.
Delivering a speech during Hezbollah mourning ceremony on the anniversary of Tayouneh martyrs in Beirut’s Dahiyeh, Sayyed Safieddine indicated that the judge carrying investigations into the crime is politicized and has ended the probes with almost all the arrested in this case released.
Sayyed Safieddine noted that Hezbollah is keen on the national stability, peace and security in case justice is restored, calling on the judiciary to redirect Tayyouneh case in a way that does not force the martyrs’ families carry out the sentences.
Seven martyrs and around 30 injured were reported during the armed attack carried out by the “Lebanese Forces” militiamen on the peaceful protestors in Tayouneh area October 14. The protesters were demonstrating against the politicized decisions of the judicial investigator into Beirut blast, Tarek Al-Bitar.
