Head of Hezbollah Executive Council Sayyed Hashem Safieddine indicated on Monday that the US administration has decided to eradicate Lebanon as an independent entity and starve the Lebanese people.
Addressing a mourning ceremony in Beirut’s Southern Suburb on the death anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hasan Al-Mujtaba (P) and Imam Ali Al-Rida (P), Sayyed Safieddine noted that the US sponsorship of the indirect maritime agreement between Lebanon and the Zionist entity comes to serve the Israeli, not the Lebanese, interests.
What rescues and saves Lebanon and its resources is the Resistance power, Sayyed Safieddine affirmed.
Sayyed Safieddine also called on the various political parties in Lebanon to seek at least the minimum level of national unity while approaching the upcoming constitutional entitlements, especially the cabinet formation and the presidential election.
People in Lebanon need some hope, away from the rhetoric of pessimism and incitement, Sayyed Safieddine concluded.
