Adviser to the Iranian negotiating team in Vienna Mohammad Marandi said on Tuesday that the US and the European signatories of the 2015 nuclear deal don’t want to reach an agreement on reviving the JCPOA in a bid to press Iran.
In an interview with Al-Manar’s Panaroma Today, Marandi didn’t rule out that such behavior by the Europeans and the US would lead to the failure of the talks.
He noted that the text of the deal set by Iran is much better that the text which was previously adopted by Western signatories of the JCPOA.
“Iran has imposed its own vision and didn’t care for the negotiation course which the West attempted to impose,” Marandi told Al-Manar.
Meanwhile, the Iranian adviser accused the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of being biased, noting that the agency’s chief visited the Zionist entity before his visit to Tehran.
“If the nuclear program is kept away of politics then it will be solved by specialists and technicians.”
Marandi noted that blacklisting the IRGC was out of the negotiation list, stressing that this issue will never affect the IRGC’s activity.
“The West needs the nuclear deal as it faces energy crisis ahead of winter. As long as the west is procrastinating, it is pressuring itself,” he said, stressing that Iran is in better condition.
“The Europeans are victims of US’ policies,” Marandi told Al-Manar, pointing to Brussels’ full subjection to Washington.
