A large number of worshippers gathered at Sayyeda Zainab Holy Shrine in Damascus countryside, reiterating allegiance to the martyrdom and sacrifice path of Imam Hussein (P).
Ashura refers to the tenth day of Muharram in the Islamic calendar when Muslims commemorate the murder of Imam Hussein bin Ali (P) and a large number of his family members and companions in Iraq’s Karbala at the hands of the torturous ruler Yazid bin Mu‘awiya and his army.
Meanwhile, thousands of worshippers also took into streets to commemorate the anniversary of Imam Hussein (P) martyrdom, voicing loyalty to his track.
