Lebanese prime minister Najib Mikati is scheduled to hold a meeting at Grand Serail on Monday with the ministerial committee tasked to tackle the strike of public employees and the possible solutions in this regard.
The employees demand a salary increase in order to face the repercussions of the economic crisis and the decrease in the exchange rate of the national currency against the US dollar.
Media reports indicated that the caretaker prime minister may offer the employees a considerable salary increase, adding that the discussions will tackle the source of funds.
Meanwhile, Al-Manar sources mentioned that the consultations aimed forming a new government have been stalling, noting that no new developments have been marked.
