Israeli media revealed on Saturday details of the Elad attack which killed three Zionists late Thursday, as the manhunt for the two Palestinians who carried out the attack elude manhunt for the second day.
Asaad Yousef Asaad Al-Rifai, 19, and Subhi Emad Subhi Abu Shqeir, 20, remained at large despite a massive manhunt for them.
Israeli security officials said that the pair were transported from the West Bank barrier to the Israeli city by an Israeli driver whom they killed upon arrival to the occupied territories, Israeli media reported.
The Israeli driver “is thought to have brought Al-Rifai and Abu Shqeir from the West Bank security barrier, where they are believed to have sneaked into Israel, to Elad.”
“Upon arriving, the two attacked the Israeli driver, killing him. From there, they headed up Ibn Gvirol street where they killed Elad residents Yonatan Havakuk and Boaz Gol,” the Times of Israel reported, quoting a statement from a security agency on condition of anonymity.
The two Palestinians are thought to have fled in a car and police believe they are still inside the occupied territories, according to the Israeli media outlet.
Occupation authorities believe Al-Rifai and Abu Shqeir had worked in Elad before and were familiar with the area, the Times of Israel reported.
