While receiving delegations in the 17th Congress of the Women’s International Democratic Federation (WIDM) held in Caracas, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro reaffirmed his solidarity with Palestine and the Palestinian people on the International Al-Quds Day.
He also wrote on his Twitter account, “I join the International Day of Al-Quds, raising my voice together with the prayer of millions for self-determination and respect for the Palestinian people. Venezuela condemns the extermination in Palestine and reiterates its absolute support for this cause, Long live Free Palestine.”
President Maduro reiterated his support for the Palestinian cause in an interview with Al Mayadeen back in December.
He stressed that no one in the world dares to ask Caracas to abandon Palestine. “We cannot accept such demands. It is a sin to simply think about abandoning Palestine or leaving it by itself.”
“Palestine is humanity’s holy land, and we have the Palestinian land in such high regard. We hear the name ‘Palestine’ loud and high,” Maduro affirmed, condemning the Israeli occupation’s crimes against Palestinians, saying “Israel” would pay for them one day.
