Hezbollah issued on Sunday a statement in which it expressed deep sorrow over the tragic catastrophe that had befell the beloved city of Tripoli as well as its good residents, offering the warmest condolences to the victims’ families and all the Tripoli locals.

Hezbollah asks Holy God to grant the victims Mercy and their families patience, according to the statement.

Hezbollah considered that what happened is a tragic manifestation of the socioeconomic crisis which has resulted from long decades of following wrong policies, neglecting the people needs, and depriving citizens of their rights.

Hezbollah maintained that what happened in the sea can be considered as a wake-up call that urges the senior officials as well as all the Lebanese parties to collaborate and sustain social solidarity in order to cope with the repercussions and consequences of the ordeal, which has exacerbated to the extent of pushing dozens of families of taking a deadly risk for the sake of finding better life conditions.

The Resistance Party called for a quick, transparent, impartial and fair judicial investigation into the accident in order to disclose the truth and identify all the culprits, including the human traffickers, smugglers and all the concerned officials.

Finally, Hezbollah called on the competent state authorities to provide the victims’ relatives and their stricken families with all forms of support, maintaining that every one must keep patient, assume the national responsibility, stay away from violence and sabotage which tamper with internal security and stability.
