Iraq’s foreign ministry has denied Turkey’s claims that launched military operation against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Kurdistan Region was conducted in cooperation with the Iraqi government.
In a statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, it stated that “Iraq has the right to use all sources of force to respond to Turkey at the bilateral and multi-levels while noting that there is no truth to Ankara’s claim that it coordinated with Baghdad in its military operations.”
The statement pointed out, “Turkish military operations in Iraqi territory are a flagrant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and a threat to its territorial integrity.”
“We demand the complete withdrawal of Turkish forces from Iraqi territory,” the statement added.
The Turkish army launched a new military operation inside the Kurdistan Region on Monday.
