Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met on Tuesday with Bahrain’s prime minister, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, during his trip to the tiny Gulf state — the first by an Israeli premier.
Bennett was set to meet later in the day with Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Israeli media reported.
Bahrain normalized ties with the Zionist entity in late 2020 as part of the so-called Abraham Accords, a series of agreements between the Israeli regime and some Arab states backed by Washington.
Bennett visited the other Gulf state, the United Arab Emirates, in December.
The Israeli premier also met with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani; Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani; and Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed.
A statement from the Bennett’s office said the men discussed partnerships and various ideas relating to the economy, technology and innovation, as well as making use of the two sides’ geographical advantages to improve transporting goods between Asia and Europe, among other things.
