The Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri rejected in a statement what the decree calling for extraordinary legislative sessions included pertaining the restrictions on their agenda.
“The parliament is autonomous, and the President, according to the Constitution, has the right to return laws and proposals only after they had been issued by the House,” Berri said.
On Thursday, President Michel Aoun signed a decree calling on the Parliament to hold extraordinary sessions and identifying their agenda.
