Zionist settlers and Israeli occupation forces renewed their attacks against Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Al-Quds, with several injuries reported among Palestinians, media reported late Monday.
Israeli settlers, backed by occupation forces, stormed on Monday the neighborhood, whose families have been for weeks facing the imminent risk of forced expulsion from their homes for the benefit of Jewish settlers.
Al-Manar quoted Palestinian sources as saying that occupation forces threw stun grenades at Palestinians who gathered to repel the Israeli aggression on their homes in Sheikh Jarrah.
Fire erupted at a Palestinian roof, as IOF arrested Palestinian young man Ahmad Abu Khdeir, the sources added.
Israeli media reported that 20 Palestinians were injured in the clashes.
Earlier on Monday, four Palestinian girls, ranging in ages from 12 to 14 years, sustained injuries after being pepper-sprayed in the face by a Jewish settler in the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
Local sources told WAFA that four teenage girls were training to perform dabkeh dance during an artistic event held in the neighborhood when a Jewish settler pepper-sprayed them, causing them burns on their faces.
The settler chased the four girls, pepper-sprayed them and then filed a complaint with Israeli occupation police. The police detained two Palestinian youths after the attack and did nothing to the settler, the sources added.
