The Iraqi defense ministry denied on Friday what has been alleged by the US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, who claimed exchanging intelligence data with Iraq ahead of an air strike on Syria.
The Iraqi ministry stressed that the intelligence cooperation with the US-led coalition focuses only on the fight against the terrorists groups.
US Air Force planes have launched missile strikes in several areas near the Syrian-Iraqi border, according to the Syrian state television channel.
“The United States carried out an aggressive action against Syria, attacking ground targets in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor,” the report said.
