Sources told Al-Manar on Sunday that France called on UAE to contribute to efforts that are aimed at ending the Lebanese political impasse.
“Contacts took place between France and UAE in last few days, in which Paris called on Abu Dhabi to contribute to finding solution to the crisis of forming Lebanese government,” Al-Manar correspondent reported, citing sources familiar with the governmental crisis.
“After Egypt, PM-Designate Saad Hariri headed to the UAE, where he is due to discuss the formation of the Lebanese government,” the correspondent added.
She noted that French President Emanuel Macron’s advisor for Near Eastern affairs Patrick Dorrell will visit Lebanon after return of Hariri to Lebanon.
“Dorrell will meet Lebanese figures in a bid to press ahead towards forming the new government,” Al-Manar’s Mona Tahini added.
