Activists across the world marked on Sunday the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People, with this year event focusing on countering attempts to normalize ties between Arab countries and the Zionist entity.
Commemorating the occasion, the International Campaign to Counter Israeli Occupation holds an online meeting via Stream Yard platform that includes representatives from many countries across the Middle East, Europe and America.
Talking about the event, head of the campaign Ramzi Awde said this year’s occasion holds the slogan of “The Three Nos: No to Occupation, No to Annexation and No to Normalization.”
Awde hoped that the so-called ‘deal of the century’ will end by the end of US President Donald Trump’s term, stressing that such scheme targets the entire Arab world and not only Palestine.
Starting at 11:00, the meeting end at 16:00, Awde said. Representatives of countries have been categorized into groups, every group has a time of 20 minutes to hold its meeting, while every representative has a 5-minute interposition, according to the campaign head.
The groups have been classified as following: Palestine, Arab Gulf, Jordan, the Arab Maghreb, Syria-Egypt-Lebanon, Iraq and the international group.
Awde, meanwhile, revealed that the campaign has been coordinating with other countries across the world including Mauritania.
On the other hand, social media users have been sharing posts under the hashtag #All_of_us_Palestine in a bid to voice solidarity with Palestinian people across the world.
The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is observed each year on 29 November. Established in 1977, it marks the day in 1947 when the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution partitioning Palestine into an Arab State and a so-called “Jewish State”.
