Spokesman for the Russian presidency, Dmitry Peskov, said Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin “is following up the situation on Ukraine’s plan to conduct missile test on 1 and 2 December within the Russian airspace in the Crimean region.”
Peskov confirmed that the Department of Transportation is studying the issue directly and is doing what is necessary.
“Specialized agencies are studying this situation. This area is supervised by the Ministry of Transport which is a federal government body which is doing all that is necessary,” Peskov added.
Earlier, Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said he held talks with the representatives of the International Civil Aviation Organization about the status of Ukraine plans to conduct missile tests in the Crimea region.
Moreover, Russian Federal Agency for Air Transport said that Ukraine – violating all international agreements – has made a unilateral decision to conduct missile tests in the Russian airspace of Simferopol region.
The RFA asked the Ukrainian side to cancel the issued notification as soon as possible, stressing the attempts to create prohibited areas in the Russia airspace is unacceptable.
