Prime Minister-designate, Mustapha Adib, said that he agreed with President Michel Aoun to give more time to the ongoing consultations related to the formation of the new government, in remarks made to reporters at Baabda palace Thursday.
“I discussed with the President the difficulties we are facing in the government formation process, and I know that we do not have the luxury of time,” he indicated, calling upon all sides to cooperate.
Al-Manar sources indicated that the President Aoun asked Adib to continue his consultations with the various political parties in order to surpass all the barriers hindering the cabinet formation.
In contrast to the expectations, the cabinet formation process has been challenged by a number of complications, including the number of ministers and other issues.
On August 31, President Michel Aoun tasked the former ambassador to Germany to form the new government as 90 members of the parliament nominated him during the parliamentary consultations at Baabda Palace.
