At the start of the Cabinet session in Baabda, President Michel Aoun paid tribute to local nurses on the International Nurses Day, saying: “A greeting to the angels of mercy whom we remember every day and whose efforts and loyalty to their humanitarian mission we salute. We have observed, and still witness, their struggling to care for patients suffering from coronavirus, despite the incumbent risks.”

President Aoun stressed “the need to reconsider the latest arrangements, and tighten the preventive measures so as to keep pace with the coronavirus pandemic, especially since the number of infections has unfortunately increased over the past few days,” wishing “citizens who are under mandatory home quarantine would commit to what is required of them in order to avoid legal measures being taken against them.”
