Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri informed the deputies on Wednesday during the regular meeting with the deputies that he had received today the budget law draft and directly referred it to the Finance and Budget Committee to study it.
The Parliament department distributed the said law draft on the deputies.
Responding to a question whether the salary scale is included in the budget, Berri explained “the draft does not include the salary scale, but the salary scale is listed on the agenda of the scheduled May 15 parliamentary session.”
“No one has interest to arrive to 15 May parliamentary session without accomplishing a new electoral law,” some deputies said as referring to the House speaker words, adding that the Speaker urged the cabinet to continue its sessions “to accomplish and approve a new electoral draft and refer it to the Parliament.”
“Any (electoral) law needs agreement. Proportionality remains the salvation,” the Speaker stressed, reiterating that “vacuum means death and taking the country to the unknown.”
