Iran Strikes Back: Retaliatory Attacks Hit US Targets Across Region

Iran’s Armed Forces have expanded their retaliatory operations against American military positions, with fresh strikes reported against US outposts in Bahrain and Kuwait following an initial wave of drone and missile attacks. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) warned that “heavier responses are on the way” if Washington continues its aggression.

In a rapid escalation on Wednesday, the IRGC said the “warmongering American regime” attacked several locations in Hormozgan Province’s Jask, Sirik, and Qeshm districts under the “false pretext” of a US helicopter crash. According to the IRGC, the American strikes damaged a telecommunications tower in Sirik and destroyed two water reservoirs in the Bemani district.

US Fifth Fleet, al-Azraq base hit in reprisal

The IRGC Navy responded with a drone strike against the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, followed by a missile strike against Washington’s al-Azraq base in Jordan. An IRGC statement said four major targets at al-Azraq were struck and destroyed, including F-35 warplane shelters and the command-and-control center of the “child-killing American army.”

An informed military source added that Iran used long-range, solid-fuel Kheibar Shekan missiles to target the aircraft shelters. The IRGC reported that a total of 21 targets at American air and naval bases across the region were hit during the reprisal.

Army reports drone strikes

Separately, the Iranian Army’s Public Relations Office said it launched waves of drone operations against American bases and the radar systems of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, in response to “hostile acts and harassment of the terrorist American army” against residents of southern Iran.

IRGC says operations continue

The IRGC described the Islamic Republic’s response as ongoing, following reports of additional blasts in Jask after the initial American attacks. Shortly after the IRGC’s warning, local sources reported more strikes against American outposts in Bahrain and Kuwait.

Joint command issues warning

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which coordinates IRGC and Army operations, called the overall counterstrikes a “powerful [retaliatory] assault.” It warned that any repeat of US aggression would be met with “heavier and more extensive strikes” against a predetermined list of targets across the region.

Iranian officials and military forces have denied any role in the helicopter crash that Washington used to justify its attacks on Hormozgan, reiterating that any act of aggression against the country “would not go without an answer.”
