Iran on Friday condemned “in the strongest terms the brutal Israeli airstrikes” targeting various areas in southern and eastern Lebanon as well as Beirut’s southern suburb (Dahiyeh).
In a statement, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said the Israeli attacks have resulted in casualties among the Lebanese population, the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people, and damage to infrastructure and residential buildings.
The spokesperson pointed to the intensification of the attacks and the expansion of military operations to the historic cities of Tyre, Nabatieh, and Sidon.
Baghaei stated that the continued Israeli aggression is being enabled by the “silence and indifference of international bodies, particularly the UN Security Council. He stressed that the United States is complicit in Israeli actions across Lebanon, occupied Palestine, and the wider region.
The spokesperson also extended condolences over the killing of Al-Alam Media Network journalist Hussam Zeidan, who was martyred along with his family in an Israeli airstrike on Sidon on Thursday.

He praised the Lebanese people’s resilience in the face of ongoing Israeli attacks and reaffirmed Iran’s full solidarity with Lebanon in defending its sovereignty, dignity, and independence.
