Lebanon Reports Continued Israeli Violations of Sovereignty

Lebanon recorded on Sunday a new violation of its sovereignty as Israeli occupation forces continued their daily breaches of the ceasefire and UN Security Council Resolution 1701, reinforcing long-standing Lebanese complaints over repeated infringements along the southern border.

In this context, Al-Manar’s correspondent in southern Lebanon reported that Israeli occupation forces, early Sunday morning, installed barbed wire 150 meters inside Lebanese territory at the “Sarawat Gate” area east of Hermon Hill, opposite the southern town of Yaroun, constituting a fresh violation of the Blue Line.

The correspondent added that a joint patrol from the Lebanese Army and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) later inspected the site to document and formally register the breach.

Later on Sunday, Al-Manar correspondent in south Lebanon reported that Israeli artillery targeted the “Al-Mahafer” area between the towns of Aitaroun and Blida with phosphorus shells.

In another blatant act of aggression, an Israeli drone targeted a car on the public road between Tebnine, Jmeijmeh, and Safad al-Batikh in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced later that two citizens were martyred as a result of this attack.

The incident came as Israeli reconnaissance drones were reported flying at low altitude over multiple areas across Lebanon, in a continuation of near-daily violations, including ground incursions and aerial overflights, which Lebanese authorities have repeatedly raised with the United Nations as destabilizing acts and clear breaches of international resolutions governing the border.
