Yemen’s Sayyed Al-Houthi Affirms Assassination of Al-Qassam Commander Will Strengthen Resistance Axis

Leader of Yemen's Ansarullah Sayyed Abdul Malik Badreddine Al-Houthi in a televised address on Sunday, February 22, 2026.

Yemen’s Ansarullah leader, Sayyed Abdul Malik Badreddine Al-Houthi, extended condolences and congratulations on Sunday to the Al-Qassam Brigades over the killing of its chief of staff, commander Izzeddine Haddad, vowing that Yemen’s support for Palestine remains unwavering despite escalating Israeli attacks across the region.

In a message addressed to the Al-Qassam Brigades, the leader of Ansarullah affirmed Haddad’s steadfastness and said his assassination, along with the killing of his family, forms part of what he called an ongoing series of Israeli crimes targeting the people of Gaza and the occupied West Bank, as well as repeated violations against the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Sayyed Al-Houthi said the “huge sacrifices made by the Al-Qassam Brigades and other resistance factions would only strengthen their resolve, patience, and commitment to continued confrontation with Israel.” He added that fighters across the Axis of Resistance would emerge more determined in the face of mounting pressure and assassinations.

Reaffirming Yemen’s position, Sayyed Al-Houthi stressed that Sana’a remains firmly aligned with the people of Gaza, the broader Palestinian population, and regional allies in Lebanon and Iran.

Sayyed Al-Houthi concluded, expressing an eventual divine victory against the ongoing “Zionist aggression” targeting the region and its holy sites, saying the outcome of the confrontation would ultimately favor the “believers,” regardless of how long the conflict endures.
