Pakistan has strongly rejected a report by CBS News claiming the presence of Iranian aircraft at Nur Khan Air Base, calling the report “misleading” and warning that such speculative narratives risk undermining regional stability and ongoing diplomatic efforts.
In its official response, Islamabad said it “categorically rejects the CBS News report regarding the presence of Iranian aircraft at Nur Khan Air Base,” affirming it as misleading and inflammatory and adding that such claims “are aimed at undermining ongoing efforts to achieve regional stability and peace.”
The statement clarified that following the ceasefire and during the first round of talks in Islamabad, aircraft from both Iran and the United States arrived in Pakistan to facilitate the movement of diplomatic personnel, security teams, and administrative staff involved in the negotiations. It added that some aircraft and support personnel remained temporarily in the country in anticipation of further rounds of talks.
Logistical and administrative arrangements remain
Although formal negotiations have not yet resumed, Pakistan said diplomatic engagement has continued at a high level. In this context, the visit of Iran’s foreign minister to Islamabad was facilitated through existing logistical and administrative arrangements, the statement noted.
The government further stressed that the Iranian aircraft currently present in Pakistan arrived during the ceasefire period and “have no connection to any emergency military arrangements or operational deployments,” rejecting any claims suggesting otherwise. It said such allegations are “speculative, misleading, and completely detached from the factual context.”
Reiterating its position, Pakistan said it has “always acted as a neutral, constructive, and responsible facilitator of dialogue and de-escalation.” It added that it continues to provide routine logistical and administrative support when needed, while maintaining full transparency and regular communication with all relevant parties.
Pakistan concluded by reaffirming its commitment to supporting “all sincere efforts aimed at promoting dialogue, reducing tensions, and advancing peace, stability, and regional and global security.”
