Martyrs Rise in Gaza Amid Continued Israeli Ceasefire Violations

On the 84th day of the truce, Israeli occupation forces persisted in violating the ceasefire agreement across the Gaza Strip, resulting in new casualties and escalating military incursions.

Civil Defense crews recovered the bodies of a mother and her child, with several others injured, after a fire engulfed a displacement tent in Gaza City’s Yarmouk area. In a separate incident, the extreme cold claimed the life of a child, Malak Rami Ghneim, in the Nuseirat refugee camp. Hundreds of tents were flooded by heavy rains, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

On the ground, Israeli artillery targeted eastern Gaza, supported by heavy tank fire. Military vehicles advanced into eastern Khan Younis, deploying additional concrete barriers east of Salah al-Din Street. Further shelling was reported north of the al-Bureij camp, east of the Wadi Gaza bridge, and near the al-Sanafir roundabout in Gaza City’s al-Tuffah neighborhood.

Cumulative Toll

Since the ceasefire began, 416 Palestinians have been martyred and 1,153 wounded in violations, while 683 bodies have been recovered from earlier destruction. The overall death toll from the Israeli offensive, which began on October 7, 2023, has now reached 71,271, with 171,233 injured.
