MP Raad: Israeli Enemy Benefited from Lebanese Government Listlessness, Hezbollah Will Fight to Defend Nation

MP Mohammad Raad, Head of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, addressed the Lebanese people, saying that for a year and five months, the resistance had fully adhered to the ceasefire against the enemy, implementing an agreement made by the Lebanese state with the Zionist enemy after indirect negotiations under the auspices of an American presidential envoy in 2024.

He added that the Zionist occupiers had not complied with the agreement even for a single day, exploiting the resistance’s commitment in order to kill, betray, and destroy, advancing in some villages, destroying homes and shops, and ruining crops and livelihoods. In sixty days, they achieved what they could not do during their confrontation with the resistance, he added.

MP Raad accused the Lebanese government of not taking action to confront the enemy’s violations and not utilizing its claimed international friendships to pressure the Israelis. He accused the government of colluding and hiding behind the demand to disarm the resistance, claiming it would push the enemy to stop its aggression.

He explained that the resistance had dealt flexibly in the area south of the Litani River, respecting the November 27, 2024 agreement to evacuate the area of arms, while affirming its rejection of the government’s August 5, 2025 decision on the exclusivity of arms and pushing the Lebanese army to implement it. He warned of the danger of this decision, which had encouraged the Zionist enemy and opened the door to other Israeli demands.

Hezbollah’s Top Lawmaker noted that the Zionist enemy had continued its violations of Lebanese sovereignty by air, land, and sea, targeting young people in occupied villages and towns, establishing over seven military positions on the front line, and continuing to blackmail Lebanon and send drones over all Lebanese territories, including the capital Beirut, to humiliate the authorities and citizens.

He warned that the resistance’s patience with the enemy’s aggression has limits, affirming that the continuation of Zionist hostilities in coordination with the American administration prepares the ground for attacking the resistance. “The recent call-up of Zionist reserves in preparation for an attack on Lebanon is part of this plan, in addition to the surprise raids on Iran aimed at targeting Leader Imam Khamenei and overthrowing the Islamic Republic, before turning to Lebanon to launch a comprehensive attack.”

He pointed out that the missile barrage launched by the resistance in response to targeting the Iranian leader was a message of the Lebanese resistance fighters’ and people’s exhaustion with the enemy’s arrogance and a warning against the planned comprehensive aggression. He affirmed the resistance’s commitment to defending Lebanon with all available means and capabilities, in line with the stance of Imam Musa al-Sadr and in fulfillment of its national and religious duty.

MP Raad emphasized that the resistance did not rush the Zionist aggression on Lebanon but rather preceded to warn of its dangers. He affirmed that the enemy continues its aggression, and the resistance is determined to defend itself, its people, and its country’s sovereignty. “The victim has the right to resist, and others must support and enhance its capabilities to restore its rights and protect its existence.”

He stressed that Lebanon today is not choosing between war and peace, as claimed, but between war and surrender to the humiliating conditions the enemy wants to impose on the government. “The choice of resistance is the only way to preserve honor, dignity, and pride, bearing all losses and sacrifices, including destruction of homes, displacement, hunger, and homelessness, alongside patience with the mistakes of some national partners.”

“Our goal is clear and specific,” MP Raad maintained, “Expelling the enemy from our occupied land, stopping its aggression and violations by air, sea, and land, liberating prisoners, stopping security breaches against our people, and preventing the impede of the return of families to their villages and the reconstruction of their towns and homes.”
