Hezbollah Congratulates Iran on Election of Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei as Third Leader of the Islamic Revolution

Hezbollah Statements

Hezbollah congratulated on Monday the Islamic Republic of Iran on the election of Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the third leader of the Islamic Revolution, succeeding the late Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Husseini Khamenei, who led Iran for decades with wisdom and steadfastness.

In an official statement, the group praised martyr Sayyed Ali Khamenei for preserving the course of the Islamic Revolution and entrenching a path of dignity, independence, and strength in confronting “forces of global arrogance.”

Praise for the Assembly of Experts

Hezbollah also commended the “blessed efforts and historic and legitimate responsibility” carried out by Iran’s Assembly of Experts, which moved swiftly to elect a new leader of the revolution and guardian of the nation despite the criminal US–Israeli aggression against Iran.

“The Assembly itself had been targeted in an attempt to prevent the selection of a new leader; however, the election of Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei had left Iran’s adversaries disappointed and confused.”

Message to Iran’s Adversaries

Hezbollah said the rapid and wise election sends a powerful message to Iran’s enemies and the enemies of the wider Muslim world: that Iran, through its leadership and people, will not be intimidated by attacks or pressure.

“Attempts to undermine the revolution would fail in the face of the sacrifices of fighters, the blood of martyrs, and the resilience of the leadership. All the power of the United States and ‘Israel’ would not be able to break the will of the Iranian people,” the statement asserted.

The group also said the Islamic Revolution would continue with strength and determination along the path of guardianship until dignity and victory are achieved.

Renewed Pledge

Hezbollah concluded by extending its warmest congratulations and renewing its commitment to the path of Wilayat Al-Faqih (Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist). The group prayed for Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei to succeed in continuing the legacy established by Imam Ruhollah Khomeini and in carrying great trust.

The statement also called for divine protection for Iran’s leadership and people and expressed hope that the Islamic Republic would emerge from the current conflict victorious and stronger.
