FM Araghchi Stresses Integration of Diplomacy and Force in Safeguarding Iran’s Interests

Iran Warns of Forceful Response Ahead of Revolution Anniversary (Feb. 10, 2026).

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran’s strong diplomatic posture is firmly grounded in the strength and capability of its armed forces, which have successfully deterred adversaries from pursuing any military option and will continue to play this role in the coming phase.

Speaking on Monday on the eve of the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Araghchi said the Foreign Ministry was honored to host Army Commander Major General Amir Hatami and senior commanders from across the armed forces, describing the occasion as a source of pride.

He emphasized that the power and authority of Iran’s armed forces have been the decisive factor enabling the country to maintain a steady and confident presence on the diplomatic stage while pursuing its legitimate interests. This strength, he said, has deterred any potential aggression against the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran—on land, at sea, and in the air.

Araghchi underlined that field operations and diplomacy now move side by side, united in purpose and fully integrated. He stated that Iran will persist in defending its national interests and the rights of its people, regardless of the diplomatic channels.

He noted that Iran has entered a new phase of negotiations, describing it as the outcome of a year of resistance by the Iranian people and their armed forces in the face of pressure, threats, and war. The steadfastness of the nation, he said, constitutes the essential support for both the armed forces and Iran’s diplomats as they defend the country’s interests.

Concluding his remarks, Araghchi reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will pursue negotiations from an equal footing based on mutual respect and shared interests. He stressed that Tehran will act with seriousness if it encounters comparable seriousness from the other side, while proceeding with full awareness, drawing on past experience, and without placing trust in its counterpart. He also reiterated deep appreciation for the role of the armed forces in safeguarding Iran and its sovereignty.
