Saudi warplanes carried out 11 airstrikes on several areas of Yemen’s Saada Governorate in less than two hours, including attacks targeting telecommunications networks in the border districts.

Al-Massirah, Beirut-based Yemeni news network, quoted local sources as saying that Saudi aircraft first struck the telecommunications network in Munabbih, followed by a second airstrike on the same district. They then carried out three airstrikes on southern Saada city, while Kataf and Al-Buqa were each targeted with two strikes.

Two additional airstrikes targeted Al-Salim, while the telecommunications network in As-Safra was hit by two strikes.

The latest escalation comes amid continued Saudi airstrikes and shelling targeting various areas of Saada Governorate and its border areas.

The targeting of telecommunications networks threatens to disrupt vital communication services relied upon by residents in the affected areas, according to Al-Massirah.

Saudi aircraft continued to fly over the governorate following the strikes, while no casualties or material damage have yet been reported.
