A wave of Israeli attacks struck multiple towns and areas across southern Lebanon at dawn on Monday, marking a sharp escalation in hostilities. The assaults spanning airstrikes, artillery shelling, and controlled detonations unfolded under the continuous overflight of Israeli warplanes and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) across the region’s airspace.
Israeli fighter jets launched raids on the outskirts of Mayfadoun, Kfar Tebnit, and Al-Mansouri, as well as the area between the towns of Hadatha and Haris, and the localities of Khiam, Mays al-Jabal, and Al-Qantara, according to field reports.
Two airstrikes were reported targeting Wadi Zibqin, coinciding with heavy artillery shelling that pounded the Western Sector. Warplanes also struck the outskirts of Hadatha.
In Mays al-Jabal, Israeli forces carried out a detonation at dawn before launching an airstrike on the Al-Dabsh area along the town’s western outskirts. Additional raids targeted the outskirts of Talousa, while enemy forces conducted a sweep operation toward Hadatha.
Hostile artillery fire struck a wide swath of the south, hitting Wadi Zibqin, Wadi al-Salouqi, Hadatha, Al-Mansouri, Srayin, Houla, Zoutar al-Sharqiyah, the Khiam Plain, Kfar Tebnit, Arnoun, Aitaroun, Haris, and Baraachit.
Apache attack helicopters were deployed against the areas of Mayfadoun and Qabrikha, while demolition operations were carried out in the towns of Beit Yahoun and Majdalzoun.
The attacks follow a marked Israeli escalation over the past several hours, coinciding with Hezbollah supporters commemorating the martyrdom of two revered leaders: Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safi al-Din.
The escalation involved a mix of airstrikes by fighter jets and helicopters, shelling, and demolition operations targeting homes and property, alongside ground incursions and sweeping operations.
UAVs maintained a constant presence in Lebanese airspace, monitoring the movements of participants at rallies and events held in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and the South.
