Iranian media outlets on Friday republished archive photos showing Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei visiting Lebanese victims who were injured by the criminal Israeli pager attacks in Tehran in the fall of 2024.

The photos show Ayatollah Sayyed Mojataba Khamenei, when he had not yet become the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, visiting the wounded in Tehran hospitals on behalf of his father, then-Supreme Leader Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

Sayyed Mojtaba’s brothers Sayyed Mostafa and Sayyed Masoud Khamenei were accompanying his as he visited the those injured who were transferred from Lebanon to Iran for medical treatment.

Reports at the time said Khamenei’s sons brought the wounded copies of the Quran and a letter from their father praising their resilience following the horrific bombings.

For his part, Mojtaba Amani, the former Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon who was also injured in the pager attacks, shared on Friday a photo of him with Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei visiting him in a hospital in Tehran.

The pager attacks took place on September 17, 2024, when thousands of communication devices used primarily by Hezbollah members for civilian purposes exploded simultaneously across Lebanon, including in Beirut’s southern suburbs, the Bekaa and the south.

The blasts killed at least 12 people and injured more than 3,000 including children, women and medical workers. The following day, a second wave involving booby-trapped handheld radios killed at least 25 people and injured more than 600.
